Laboratories

Cement industry laboratories play a crucial role in ensuring that the product meets required standards (Libyan Standard Specification 97/340). From raw materials to finished products, samples are analysed at all stages of production. Typically, the laboratory section includes the following:

Chemical laboratory

To analyse chemical ratios, the chemical laboratory should be equipped with the necessary capabilities to conduct tests that cannot be performed with an X-ray machine. By comparing the X-ray machine's results with those obtained by the chemist, the laboratory verifies the accuracy of the X-ray machine.

Free Lime percentage

Lost by burning L.O.I.

Insoluble materials I.R.

X-ray machine

For quality control of mixtures used in furnaces and final products, the laboratory analyzes hourly and aggregate samples regularly. This is accomplished by closely monitoring coefficients and oxides, as well as analyzing raw material samples supplied to the factory.

Controlled Neutron Analyzer

By using gamma rays, the simultaneous analysis device (gamma rays) is able to analyze materials as they pass through the conveyor belt, from the main crusher basin to the raw materials store. Monitoring and analysis are conducted every two minutes to ensure continuous monitoring.

Physical laboratory

Physical tests are conducted in the laboratory to make sure cement samples meet the specifications required. Testing includes:

Determine the time of primitive doubt

Determine the final doubt time

Determine the force applied

Softness calculation

Estimate the degree of expansion
